Button It!

We have a new challenge at The Ribbon Reel blog, and Pauline is your host this fortnight and asks you create a card / project using BUTTONS plus RIBBON / TWINE!

I've used papers from Crate Paper's'Pretty Party' and made some cute birthday bunting! I snipped scraps of paper and threaded twine and ribbons, then finished with bows and pearls. The greeing has been stamped  and cut out and raised with foam. I've finished off with natural twine and a flower studded with an Ivory Cotton Button.

Pink and Natural Button Twine, Cotton Buttons, Candy Stripe Buttons, Polka Dot Heart Button, Candy Sugar Pearls all available from The Ribbon Reel.

Sew Crafty

In The Shabby Tearoom, Starr is our wonderful host this week and asks we create card or project INSPIRED BY THE COLOURS IN THE PHOTO AND INCLUDE BUTTONS, RIBBON/TWINE AND STITCHING.

This week I've gone down a different route to usual ;) I used this 'Bookstack' digi image from our sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps who are giving away 7 digital images to one lucky winner.

The papers are some favourites from MME 'Stella & Rose' range, which I printed the book stamp onto and paper pieced them together. I've stuck this onto a tab of card, pegged with a faux leather star. This can be doubled up as a bookmark!

Flashes of colour come from bright blue grosgrain bow and buttons, finished off with a mini pencil tied on with bakers twine.

Hop over to The Tearoom - we'd love to see what you create!

Elegance & Lace

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. A new week means a new challenge in The Shabby Tearoom! Tammy is your host this week and asks us create a card / project INSPIRED BY THE PHOTO using WHITE / CREAM, KRAFT and PINK plus LACE.

This week I got to play with some lovely vintage goodies from our sponsor, Crafty Secrets, who are giving away $50 gift certificate to the winnder of the Tearoom this week.

I made a wall hanging with a page from the Sweetchips Rectangle Album which I painted and layered with burlap, muslin and Love Mail Creative Scraps,Mini Vintage Creative Scraps and elements from the Creating with Vintage Typography CD. The birdie gets an Alpha Button sticker greeting, owhile other details include a chipboard heart from the album set that I glittered and bingo card from the CD which I printed onto iron on transfer paper and ironed onto canvas. Some cute Metal Bottle Caps add a quirky vintage finish!

Sweet Sparkles

Over at The Ribbon Reel blog, I am your host this fortnight and ask you create a card / project using the COLOURS in the photo USING a HEART, SPARKLE plus LACE or RIBBON!

For this fun little number I've edged a kraft card blank with mini cupcake cases and layered shapes up. The fun focal point comes from half a cupcake case filled with tissue ribbon and decorated with pom poms and a candle! A different technique I tried was taping the Grosgrain ribbon onto card and die cutting a heart.

Pink & White Grosgrain Stripe, 12mm Ivory Faux Silk ribbon, Pink Loop Trim, Candy Sugar Pearls, Ivory Silk Pearl Hearts and May Arts Natural Crochet Lace all from The Ribbon Reel.

We also have some exciting news - from now onwards we will be inviting a Guest Designer to join our little ribbon team every month! This month we have the lovely Michelle Bala - My Passion for Crating. Michelle is a regular here at our challenges and the team are so happy that she'll be joining us this month!!
