And finally we have a banner created with the Vintage Emporium line. This range is so versitile and would work well with so many different designs and occaisions.

The new alphabet playing cards from this range are so fun to use and generally awesome! I used them to create this Prima banner with a playing cards theme of diamonds, hearts, clubs and spades.

Give me a P...

CHA Roundup: Prima Memory Hardware

Hello again!

CHA roundup project #2 features the Explore Evermore tag book created using Vintage Emporium papers and Memory Hardware Artisan Powder.

This tag technique book shows how you can use your stencils in a variety of different ways; on material with 3D Gel, with Modeling Paste, gold Color Bloom and Artisan Powder for an aged look, inks and oil pastels.  They work particularly well on top of surfaces primed with gesso and don't forget you can stamp on  top of art gels and pastes when dry to add detailing to your stencilling.

Using inks, Artisan Powder, oil pastels over the steciling and suface of the tag to create a worn vintage feel.

The Artisan Powder really brings out all the details on this tag giving great depth of detail.

CHA Roundup: Prima French Riviera

Hello all!

I hope all is well with you. Today I am sharing some new samples I created for the Prima booth at last week's CHA show. First up we have the new nautical French Riviera range. The papers and flowers from this line are divine!

French Riviera is a combination of vintage nautical and serene images from the French coast. Navy blues, floral patterns, and vintage maps make this collection perfect for all your travel and beach memories.

This nautical hanging wooden star has been embellished with rope, flowers, brads, shells and pieces from the French Riviera ephemera pack. I picked out Mr Crab (again from the ephemera pack) as the main feature and mixed seaside blues with hints of orange. Isn't he just fun?!

I used a shell stencil from the range along with an old Finnabair bubble stencil on the star with Light Paste then spritzed over some Color Bloom to highlight.

The star is finished off with a hanging anchor which was been created using die cut and wooden elements layered up and attached with Memory Hardware rope chain.

Freedom

Hello friends!

I would like to start off by wishing you all health and happiness for 2016 and hope you had a good festive break. My first project of the new year sees me getting my fingers very inky with this art journal cover for Mixed Media Place.

A new year is upon us and it's that time of the year for fresh starts and resolutions. Starting a journal at the beginning of the year is a great way to file and all those ideas, plans and thoughts don't you think?  And I think the word "freedom" is one of the most imprortant when it comes to creativity.

My journal cover has been inspired by the freedom of nature and outdoors. I've chosen warm oranges, greens and a hot red to spark things up. I have used Black Heavy Gesso as a base paint for the cover and added torn pieces of book pages adhered onto the surface with Soft Matte Gel. 3D Gel and stencils have been used to add dimension and details around the adges of the book.

I created texture by layering fabric off cuts, tree bark from a birch tree along with other natural elements and bringing them all together with inks and spray mist.

The spine of the album has stenciling details, scraps of fabric and a feather tied onto a metal ring pull.

I hope this has inspired you to get your journaling fired up :) Have a great weekend!

Warm hugs
