Spring is Love

We have a new challenge in The Shabby Tearoom, and Debbie is our fabulous host this week and asks we create card or project using the COLOURS in the photo, FLOWERS, POLKA DOTS and a HEART.

I've layered a piece of material onto a kraft card base and added a material heart adorned with a sweet felt rose. There is a hidden treasure inside...

...this little greeting tag! I've used the 'So Big' digi stamp from our sponser this week Little Darlings who are offering a stamp set as the Winner's prize.

We have a fab new challenge on The Ribbon Reel  blog and Zuzana is our host and asks we create a card / project using the COLOURS from the photo plus RIBBON / LACE / TWINE & a BUTTON.

Here I've used a mask and grey inkpad to create the background brick wall effect, then layered labels and chipboard. The papers, flowers and resist canvas shapes I've used are from Prima's 'Songbird' range, which I love!

I've used these fabby ribbons from The Ribbon Reel, which include:
Cotton Candy Bakers Twine
Pink/White Twill Stripe
Ivory Button Twine

April Flowers

Hello and welcome to another new challenge in The Shabby Tearoom, Starr is our fabulous host this week and asks we create card or project using THE COLOURS IN THE PHOTO plus LACE / RIBBON AND FLOWERS.

I've had so much fun using this sweet tea pot template from TSTR's sponsor, The Cutting Cafe who are offering 3 files of the Winner's choice as this week's prize. These can be printed and cut out by hand or used with a digital cutting machine. I used my Silhouette machine to cut the template and then added stitching to the lid, spout and handle. I've added a pretty bunch of flowers (of course!) and finished off with a tag hung on the handle!

Beautiful Roses

Hello and welcome to another new challenge in The Shabby Tearoom! Tammy is our wonderful host this week and asks we create card or project inspired by the photo using CREAM/WHITE, PINK, AQUA plus FLOWERS.

I've used Dainty Damask paper in Sky and the Round Off stamps and sentiments from our sponsor this week, My Time Made Easy  who are offering 1 template, papers & digi set for our Winner.

I have kept this card simple, bright and fresh with some simple layering and punched borders. The bottom edge has been cut using a Tim Holtz Brackets border die. I've then topped off with a seam binding bow and Prima rose.

Going Green

The new challenge over at The Ribbon Reel  has a green theme this forthnight! Pauline is our host and asks we use something RECYCLED, plus RIBBON / TWINE, using the COLOURS FROM THE INSPIRATION PIC.

For this card I've been playing with some shimmer mist, spritzing over alphabet stickers for the Thank You outline. For my recycled element I've used this wire sprig, which was originally a decoration on a Christmas cracker!

And to of course I've run a selection of lovely ribbon fromThe Ribbon Reel along the bottom of the card.

Birthday Bash

Greetings dear readers! Over at The Shabby Tearoom, Rebekah is our fabby shabby host this week and asks we create card or project with a BIRTHDAY THEME plus A CUPCAKE IMAGE or SHAPE!

This week I've tried something I've wanted to for ages - stamping onto Fimo clay! This technique is SO simple - I rolled and Fimo and used a heart cutter for the shape then inked my stamp up and stamped into the soft clay and off then baked! For some added birthday glamour, the heart has been adorned with silver tinsel.

I've knotted small scraps of fabric for the border and finished of with a big pretty voile bow, decorated with a felt star and button!
Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights By Louby Loo who are giving away a $5 gift voucher to the weeks' Tearoom winner.  We would love to see you play along!

Happy Easter

Hello again! We have another wonderful fortnightly challenge over at The Ribbon Reel and I am your host this week and I've chosen this beautiful Spring inspiration photo and ask that you create a card / project inspired by the COLOURS in the photo PLUS an EASTER / SPRING THEME!

I wanted to do something a little different this time, so decided I'd use a cardboard egg box to decorate up - with a little surprise inside!

I started by painting with Aqua paint, then toned the colour down with a white paint dabber. I then flicked with Tattered Angels shimmer mist (in Crushed Shell) to recreate a speckled egg.

Then for the fun part - decorating up with ribbons, trim, feathers, flowers, eggs and I couldn't resist using a mini cotton spool which I wrapped with ribbon.

The inside of the egg has been Decopatched - covering with adhesive then with ripped up pages of an old book and then another layer of adhesive to seal. I've filled the inside with this little birdie, nest and branches and a stamped greeting onto ribbon.

all available from The Ribbon Reel.

Homegrown Flowers

This week in The Shabby Tearoom, Lenet is our host this week and she asks we create a card / project using the picture as inspiration and include a HANDMADE FLOWER.

This week I've used this sweet Easter egg digi stamp from our Robyns Fetish, printing onto iron-on transfer paper then ironing onto a piece of canvas! I've added stitching and a stamped greeting and layered this onto some jute.

I've handmade the flowers from felt, using a Marianne die and finishing with gorgeous crystals and scrunched seam binding.

Robyns Fetish are giving away 5 digi images as the prize for this week's! We hope to see you create and join in!
