Trend Watch with Prima

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well and ready for the weekend. We are trend spotting over on the Prima blog today, with my project inspiration coming from the new colourful and psychedelic prints you see on clothing - I'm in love with crazy bright workout clothes ;)

And the layout I created;

I used a sheet of A4 watercolor paper from the Bloom collection for my layout instead of 12x12 paper layering a selection of stencils and adding Color Bloom mists and watercolour details to create a psychedelic effect.

Adding some gorgeous Prima flowers makes the layout pop even more. Some extra texture comes from a bunch of circles from a hole punch painted with ___ and a sprinkling of embossing crystals.

7 Dots Studio Tutorial

Hello everyone! I have a new tag tutorial to share with you today which is featured on the 7 Dots Studio blog as part of my guest designer slot. Enjoy!

1. I layered stickers layered onto a piece of card creating a lattice style effect.

 2. Applying a layer of gesso over the stickers along with some dry wall tape.

3. I added a tag and circular element sticker from the Soulmates collection plua some chipboard which gets a liberal coating of gesso.

4. This die cut bird has been painted with crackle paint and I have stuck down one of the heart shapes from the Thoughts Keeper element stickers into the wet paint.

5. Adding watercolour inks and blending them with water.

6. The tag is finished off with watercoloured flowers, further Thoughts Keeper elements stickers and stenciling.

Ans the finished article...

Lost - Prima Relics & Artifacts

Hello dearies! On Prima blog today we are featuring Sandra Evertson's Relics and Artifacts. These plaster casts are beyond cool and have so many possibilities for artistic interpretation!

I created this canvas with a hint of inspiration from street art.

The project uses minimal embellishments with the focus on this wonderful Visage cast. For the background I've used Heavy Gesso, a vintage Prima brick wall stencil(!), and Modeling Paste.

Doodling and highlights with a white marker pen...

I've added in colours with acrylic paint, Prima watercolor pencils, and ink. I added some further texture with White Sand Texture Paste applied randomly onto the bricks.

Some alpha altering with a pair of scissors for the title finish things off.

7 Dots Studio Guest Designer

Hello everyone!

I am very excited and honored to be featuring as a guest designer feature on the 7 Dots Studio blog today. Wooo!! I had much fun playing around with their collections of papers and elements :)

I created this layout using paper along with elements from the Thoughts Keeper and Soulmates collections, pulling out the soft pink and aqua hues.

I started by adding some old peel off flower stickers onto the 12×12 paper then I applied a coat of gesso with an old gift card over the paper.

Adding Ecoline inks (pink and grey) over the gesso area to add colour then some texture with 3D paste and stencil which I highlighted with a dark pencil. The tags and sticker elements have been used to embellish around the photo along with denim and paper flowers.

 A few details...

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful start to the new month. Today I'd like to share a tag I created for Mixed Media Place. Patience is not a virtue I posess in abundance, and this is a little reminder to curb my impatience. ;) Is there anything you need to remember about? Everyone needs a little reminder from time to time, don't you think? What would yours be?

I used the Elementals Cobblestone stencil with Art Basics Light Paste and misted over Prima Empress Gold Color Bloom. Then, I added some brightness with Gold Ochre Ecoline ink blending with water.

Some dimension comes from layering up squares of paper, denim and burlap along with some highlights around the stencil pattern with a Licorice Gelato (sounds interesting!) and a fine liner pen.

The Art Ingredients Mica Flakes have been tinted with Cobalt Color Bloom mist on a paper leaf, finished with doodling details .

I hope you enjoyed today's post and are inspired to craft your own little "reminder."
