January Prima PPP

Hello again! Hope you are all having a good week.I'm here today with a card I created for Prima's January Product Picks.

I chose to use the beautiful frosty blues and greys to create this winter birthday card.

I've used a mix of Prima papers, denim, Prima zipper flowers, pebbles, mesh and some painted chipboard token holders out of an old board game (I think)!

And a close up...lots of fibres and threads for texture.

Some metal was added for dimension along with a piece of zipper flower which I pushed into one of the holes in the chipboard token holder and attached an old cog. I've added some doodling in the chipboard recesses plus some snowy looking paint splats!

I would love to hear any random or unexpected junk you've used for crafting!

January Prima Guest Designer

Hello and happy 2014 to everyone! Today I'm *very* excited to share this layout I created as Prima's January guest designer!

This month's BAP sketch and this is what I came up with...

Using a mix of Lifetime and Vintage Vanity papers, I've added paint splodges in contrasting colours which have been highlighted to make them pop. Lots of little details come from using a selection of Prima stamps and my new love, the "Static" mask. I've used thin wood "paper" as a base to layer papers on and added texture with dry wall tape, mesh and chequered resist canvas.

A plastic ring has been used as a photo frame, which I painted and highlighted.

The flower has been created from string and wire, backed with resist canvas.

And a close up of the main details. I've used lots of different textures, from wire to corrugated card. And I've even got some sequins in, the Mechanicals clock face has been filled with them and I just toned them down with metallic paint. The fun you can have with cupboard junk ;)

Hop along to the Prima blog to join in the fun!

Hugs,
