Watercolour Tags

Hi everyone, hope you are all well with your Monday . Today's projects are focusing on Prima's new watercolour pencils and woah, do I have a serious love for them currently!

These watercolour pencils are amazing, there is so much fun to be had with them! I've used them here to colour my stamped images then added a touch of water over the top using the waterbrush set.

The first tag features Chicken Wire stencil, colouring in the gaps and blending with the brush set then stamped with this cool scissors stamp (which are from Finnabair's new release, see details below).

I love the way this tag turned out, the paintbrush stamps were made for watercolour!

This effect was ridiculously simple to create just by colouring the butterfly image with the pencils and then misting with water.

1,2,3 Stop!

Hello again! I'm on a roll this week... There's some Pantone colour fun on the Prima blog this Wednesday.  With gorgeous colours like these from Pantone's 2015 spring spread, it's easy to whip up a few stunning projects!

I've picked out the custard-coloured Bella Rouge paper and mixed in a bunch of bolder colours  in  te form of art mediums (classic blue, aquamarine), stencil work (marsala), number stickers (custard), and watercoloured flowers!

Don't those colours just spring out at you?! Love!

I've used the Grungy Grid stencil and added water colour inks along with some micro beads in between the grid pattern.

There's also some glass glitter and glass beads thrown in for good measure. I'll definitely be trying this colour combo again. What are your faves?

Quick Card Tutorial: Woodland Burst

Hi lovelies, hope you're having a lucky Tuesday! I have a quick card tutorial for you today featuring lots of Prima loveliness mixed with natural vibes and big pops of colour.

Step 1: Applying a thin layer of gesso over my papers to blend and tone the colour down.

Step 2: Using a Prima cobblestone stencil with modeling paste for some texture...

Step 3: A spritz of Emporer Gold Color Bloom mist and adding a piece of woodgrain paper to the middle of the card.

Step 4: I'm using an empty Prima wooden embellishment box and applying a generous coat of gloss gel onto it.

Step 5: Next I wrapped string around the box and set the 3D gel with a heat gun then applied a coat of gesso.

Step 6: Adhering the box and some twigs with more 3D gel.

Step 7: Misting the box with Antique Gold and Berry Vine Color Blooms, then adding a sprinkle of lilac UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel).

Step 8: A quick brush of soft matte gel onto the twigs then a sprinkling of gold embossing powder and lilac UTEE.

I finished the card off with flowers, mica flakes, micro beads and a gorgeous resin cloche.

Hugs,

Springtime Fun

Hello! Spring is fast approaching (finally!) and to celebrate we have a few fun filled projects on the Prima blog today.

I just love creating Easter and spring cards, they are a firm favourite! I mixed papers from Bella Rouge and Bedtime Story, adding resist canvas and a big beautiful bunch of Prima flowers. For some fun little details I watercoloured the resin chick and sat him in half a nest and used white crackle paint for some texture underneath the canvas letters.

The watercoloured chick sits on a little nest which I cut in half and filled with wool amid those screaming Spring flowers.

I love these striped canvas alphas! I tinted them with Color Bloom mists and added some shimmery highlights, which makes them look practically edible...

So? Mixed Media with Prima

Hi everyone! Hope you're all well. It's mixed media time over on the Prima blog today, where we are showcasing 3 ways with their Art Basics / Art Ingredients and Art Extravagance lines.

For this mini canvas I've used a variety of different mediums and techniques to create interest.  There's some fun texture created with 3D Matte Gel, Micro Beads, Chalkboard Paint, and Crackle Paint...all mixed with denim fabric. I've added some marbling onto the leaves and topped these with a resin frame highlighted with inks and watercolour using Prima's new watercolor pencils.

The resins pick up inks and mists beautifully! I used marbling ink for the leaves and painted with Gloss Gel.

Wishful Thinking - Mixed Media Place

Hello people! I'm back today with my first project for Mixed Media Place. I'm really looking forward to working on this wonderfully talented team :)

My first project is a continuation of my journal, inspired somewhat by the Two Angels painting by Rapheal. Journals are a great way to express your thoughts, feelings and creativity leaving you plenty of scope to play. The photo fit in rather well with the wings (from the internet) which I printed and cut out.

I've used 3D gel to adhere paper strips and resist canvas then painted over with Heavy Gesso. To add colour I've used Ecoline inks and tea then highlighting embellishments with Micro Beads and gold Silks paint.

There's lots of layering going on in this project, using paper scraps, hole reinforcers, resist canvas and velcro pads!

Have a great day whatever you're up to!
