Hope you are well. My latest project takes on the theme of the month over on the WOW! blog, which is favourite embossing techniques. I have showcased a couple of mine in this Spring themed egg shrine, complete with the sweetest tiny bird and nest. Read on to find out what they are!
The project started out with a plain papier mache egg decoration which I attached to a 3D metal cake mould tin via a cotton reel.
I glued a selection of paper flowers on top of the egg, then added flowers and painted all with chalk paint. For my first favourite technique I stamped a honeycomb design stamp from WOW!'s Hearts & Twine set with the Ultra Slow Drying clear ink pad, sprinkled with Clear Gloss embossing powder then melted with a heat tool.
Next I sprayed gold mica spray ink over to create a resist effect with the clear embossing on the surface of the egg. Into the the wet spray I added Rose Gold embossing powder onto the top of the egg and melted to give texture and contrast to the flowers.
The tin has been painted with the same chalk paint as used on the egg then decorated with a cluster of flowers around the base. To highlight the flowers I used Fairy Tale and Rose Gold powders to give shimmer and natural looking highlights.
And a peek inside....
What's your favourite embossing technique? I'd love to know!
xoxo
