Build A Page sketches

Hey there, hope you are all having a good weekend. I'm back with a couple of lay outs to share with you today!

The first one is January's Prima Build A Page sketch.

I've used a relatively plain background paper (from the Yuki collection) along with swipes of gesso paint, black netting, resist canvas and of course a (small) selection of Prima blooms. The cool colours are prefect for the icy picture!

Ready for a close up:

My next lay out is using papers from the Firefly collection (Prima again!) which is a current favourite. I've distressed the paper with swipes of pink and white paint and a polka dot mask. I've layered up the photo   and added lots of texture and popping colour from the flowers and resist canvas.

MME January Sketch

Here's a page I've created for the January sketch on the My Minds Eye blog. I think while this LO is soft and subtle it's also simple and striking!

I started out by spritzing a white 12x12" with glimmer mists over a lattice mask. I've layered up this photo of a very funny little rabbit I know using a selection of papers from one of my favourite collections 'Be Happy' along with die cut details and co ordinating brads. The chevron stamp used here and there is from the Merry and Bright collection. The page is finished off with some paint and mist splats and hand written journalling on vellum.

The Wanderer Returns

Hello everyone, I'm back! I'm so sorry it seems like forever since I posted here *blush* but I felt I needed a little break from blogging over the Winter. With so much happening in life the little old blog takes a back seat, although I have been creating behind the scenes and you can see a few new projects over at scrapbook.com. Thanks for bearing with me :)

12 Days of Christmas card challenge - Day 6

And here is my second card for the Prima Christmas card challenge. This time I've been inspired by  Day 6 - Stacey Young (below)

I just love the reindeer, textures and colours.

For this card, I started by using an ink pad over my polka dot mask onto a kraft card blank then layering corrugated card and Prima Fairy Belle paper. I've used a brick wall mask and embossing paste on burlap to create the house base then adding paper and resin shutters, which if you look closely have been highlighed with "snow" (paint!). The roof is resist canvas decorated with chipboard snowflake and crystal embellie. A chipboard reindeer stands upon snow created by using strips of voile material, embossing paste and a smattering of glass glitter along with crystal swirls and frosty flower arrangement.

12 Days of Christmas card challenge - Day 4

Hello readers! I'm back to share with two cards with you for the Prima 12 Days of Christmas card challenge. The idea is to make a card taking inspiration from one (or more!) of the twelve cards made by the DT.

My first card was inspired by  Day 4 - Hege Lundquist (below) ggggggH

I just loved the fresh colours and flourishes. Here is my take on it!

I started off by using the sticky labels off the back of chipboard snowflakes as a mask and spread over some gesso paint. Next I stitched around the card and flicked some shimmer mist over the snowflakes.
This cute resin birdhouse is surrounded by an assortment of beautiful flowers, North Country chipboard and bling flourishes! I've finished off with lace and muslin along with bottom, highlighted with gesso paint.

Over the Rainbow

source:here

Hello and welcome a new challenge over at The Ribbon Reel this fortnight! Sadly this will be me and Pauline's last week on the DT. I've had a wonderful time on this very talented team and will be sad to go!

Pauline is our host this week and has chosen this bright and beautiful inspiration photo and asks you to create a card / project with all the COLOURS of the RAINBOW,
plus RIBBON & TWINE.

I've made this sweet and simple new baby card by fashioning some white embossing paste  into clouds and flicking lightly with paint for lots of texture. The kite is made with triangles of felt and Bakers Twine along with knotted Grosgrain ribbon. I've put colourful twine along the bottom of the card and finished with a Candy Stripe button.

Blue Medium Cnady Stripe Button, Bakers Twine in: Cherry Red, Aqua, Cotton Candy Pink, Yellow, Orange and Purple Plum. Grosgrain Centre Stitch in Turquoise all available from The Ribbon Reel.
