Creating in Miniature

Hi sweeties, I hope you are well.

We have been creating with the new Salvage District line over on the Prima blog today and where there are plenty of fun ideas on show! I wanted to create something a bit different...can you guess what the base for this project is?

I decided it would be fun to be resourceful with my Prima packaging -by using part of the cover from the Salvage District 12x12 paper pad set. I just cut the top section from the cover and scored the panels to create this cute ATC style mini card!

I used embellishments from the Salvage District line to decorate (flowers, wooden shapes, stickers, crystals and ephemera) then added a pop of pink and red with Prima's new Watercolor Confections.

Stamping details and stenciling help pull the project together.

Box of Love

Hi sweeties!

Love is in the air over on the Prima blog and today's project I have for you is an altered wooden icons box which I made into a 3D card. Great way to use up your empty Prima packaging!

I wanted to create a natural, romantic look for my project using an empty wooden Prima embellishment box and some of my favourite natural tree bark.

The box was painted with white Heavy Gesso and decorated with pieces from Tales of You and Me ephemera pack on the inside of the box then added White Sand texture paste on the edges of the box for texture..

I watercoloured a paper clay heart with The Classics pan set and added Blush pink micro beads with 3D Gel for texture, which I surrounded with Tales of You and Me flowers then gave everything a soft pink sheen with Cotton Candy Color Bloom.

I hope this has inspired you to get creating with your empty embellies boxes!

Feather of Fancy

Hello and happy Monday to you all!  I'm excited tp be sharing my first WOW! embossing powder DT project with you today over on the WOW! blog

I'm a big fan of feahers so I fell in love with the Wow silicone mould and wanted to create a simple yet punchy card with it.

I started the background by inking a piece of card then I rubbed Wow's embossing ink pad over and added Iced Silver powder on top and melted.

For the resin feather I used a combination of Bluetiful and Black Ebony embossing powders which I mixed with Melt It powder in two seperate batches; Bluetiful  for the tip of the feather and Black Ebony for the bottom part.

I dropped some dots of the remaining black hot Melt It liquid onto my heat resistant craft sheet to make my own mini resin gems and aren't they just the cutest things?

Dimension was added to the card with a piece of Ice Blue foil which I adhered and rubbed Wow embossing ink. Royal Crush and Pearl White powders  were then sprinkled over and melted to create a 3D, metallic, molten surface.

A cotton doily received the same treatment with Ultra High Copper and Royal Crush powders.

The card was finished with a greeting from the Pick 'n' Mix stamps, stamping details around the edges of the card with stamps from the Sparkle & Shine set and some ink splats.

I hope you enjoy!

Hugs,

The Forests Are Full

 Hello friends!

I have a cute and compact little project to share with you today which is over on the Mixed Media Place blog.

I love making what I call micro canvases which I can also use in a frame as a gift, stick onto a card or even add to the front of a journal cover and I have a little stash of them ready for all kinds of projects and ideas.
The are colours for this project are not usually ones I naturally gravitate to but I really like the end result which was fresh and forest like with black accents to create a dramatic colour scheme.

To begin with I blended Distress inks and oil pastels for the background and used the Finnabair Netting stencil with black ink to create the mesh pattern then inked around the edges for further definition.

I chose part of a sentance out of an old book for the title which was the perfect inspiration for my "green" idea.

Using a couple of backgorund stamps from the Rust and Dust set, I  stamped onto card and layered these with die cut canvas pieces which have been coloured with oil pastels.

I finished by decorating with a large metal flower, wooden embellishments, a piece of lace flower and some broken plaster frames from my stash - proof that everything can come in use at some point!

Have a lovely creative week
