Watercolour Tags

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good week. Today's feature on the Prima is all about giving you ideas on what to do with their new watercolour pencils. These are such a fabulous addition to your craft stash!

And here's a simple little tag I created with them....

The pencils are amazingly versatile and can be used in a multitude of different ways. I've added colour to the seam binding by adding water to blend the pigment. These pencils are great on fabric! I also used them to give the resin head some colour by applying it with lots of water. And on the background, I applied more colour over gesso.

They give a great aged statue effect on the new Artifacts resins, such a simple way to add some colour to them.

I love the how using the pencils on seam binding with water turned out giving a beautiful mottled look. Hope this has inspired you to try them out!

Colour Fun!

Hi dearests. We have some colour fun on the Prima blog today, with my contribution being this punchy creation combining lavender and navy blue.

The background for this mini canvas was created using Heavy Gesso and Color Bloom mists, adding mists to the the gesso whilst still wet. For the central feature I altered the Oregano vine and added some natural foliage on top of the Ingvild Bolme resin frame.

I love how the natural twigs combine with the vibrant blue and lavender. Naturally I had to add a touch of denim... ;)

You can just see the navy poking out on the bottom butterfly which I added with a navy watercolour pencil from The Basics set.

I used paint and watercolour pencils to colour the frame and filled with Art Ingredients Mulberry Mica Flakes for some texture.

Some fun was had altering alphabet stickers and gibing them a bit of a graffiti look to them.
Who loves a good colour combo, any favourites?

Have a lovely weekend,

Spring Tin

Hello everyone and belated Easter Greetings to you all! We're feeling all the joys of Spring over at Mixed Media Place today with this altered tin lid.

For me, Spring and Easter time are favourite projects to create. I love the brighter colours, rustic elements combined with beautiful pastel eggs.

I have had an old tin lid which has been knocking around for so long gathering dust so I decided to put it to good use with this project!

I've used half a cardboard egg and painted it with Heavy Gesso then added random letters to spell out "Easter"and gave another coat of gesso. I then added highlights with watercolour pencils and Ecoline paints plus a spray of white Color Bloom mist.

The tin lid has been lined with old lace scraps then painted over with Chalkboard Paints and sprayed with Color Bloom mists. Using Mica Flakes and Glass Beads in 3D Gloss Gel, once dry I added another layer of Chalk Paint (Golden and Golden Olive).

Gorgeous flowers highlighted with Claudine Hellmuth mini acrylic paint and Primary Elements English Lavender.

I hope you enjoy your Spring time crafting as much as I do!

 Hugs,
