Explore Within

Hello all! I have a layout to share today, based on this month's Build a Page sketch over on the Prima blog.

The sketch -

I went with a bit of a denim theme along with a hint of industrial!

A few details: I've used an Ingvild Bolme Junkyard metal label and a label I made for the title, along with a piece of old screwdriver, which I thought looked rather cool!

Prima epoxy circle stickers, stamps, doodling and an old screw hook question mark make up the circled area from the sketch.

I cut this frame from cork, stamped the edges and backed it with mesh. Perfect to sit the pictures in :)

Thanks for looking, have a great rest of the week,

Happy Easter

Hello and Happy Easter! I hope you're having a lovely spring holiday whatever you're doing!

I'm back today with my final Easter card, created using the colours from this month's Product Pick challenge over on the Prima blog.

These colours are just the epitome of Spring!

Eggs, nests, chicks and assortment of Prima blooms are the order of the day...

For the main focal point I've used a polystyrene egg which I cut in half and painted with acrylic paint then added some gold leaf for a really cool effect. Notice the resin chickie egg has also been given the gold leaf treatment....

This Ingvild Bolme resin frame has been painted and has the egg sat upon it!  The "happy" was stamped onto twill ribbon and popped onto the egg under a feather.

Have great week :)

Easter nest cards

Mid-week greetings everyone! The Easter / Spring break is looming this weekend, so of course I had to  share this pair of seasonal cards -

These have been created with some Fimo clay eggs I made and little nests rope twine, along with those soft pastel Spring colours.

Some beautiful guinea fowl feathers and twigs I added for the full natural effect...

Isn't Spring full of natural loveliness?!

Happy Spring

Hello! I'm back here today to share an Easter card created for March's over on the the Prima blog.

Aren't these just perfect fresh Spring colours?

I've used various items from their new Free Spirit range, including the ATC stack, which I've had a lot of fun playing with! The card background has ATC sheets layered on top of each other whilst the main "Hello" greeting was created by cutting the outline of the letters which is printed on one of the ATC cards and leaving one side uncut to give the pop up effect. I've softened the paper colours with white paint and Free Spirit Music Notes stamp.

The birds nest is fashioned out of  bunched up wire, string and the eggs out some Prima nests! The flowers are an assortment from the Free Spirit range and resist canvas vine leaves which I glimmer misted then added texture and details with some white Enamel Accents.

One of the L's which was cut out from the ATC card has been coiled with some Prima wire thread while the previous L has a tiny metal bird which I took off an old Prima (Songbird?) trinket .

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

Fresh & Fun For Mum

Hi everyone! Do you like creating something a bit different from your usual comfort zone? I do and today I'm sharing this Mother's Day card  which is bright, bold and poppy! It differs from my usual favoured tones, but I like to mix it up now and again and love how fresh and fun the colours are.

The papers and die cut embellishments are Crate Paper Maggie Holmes, along with the awesome chunky gold glitter Thickers.

I die cut a square from cork and backed it with vellum, filled with sequins and sandwiched a square of paper behind. I made the bow from scrunched up tissue paper and added some paint highlights.

Plenty of sequins, my new "thing" :)

Have a great rest of the week!

February colour picks

Hey, hey! I'm back with a little something I made for Prima's February Product Pick / colour challenge. I'm loving those gorgeous spring colours...

And here's my offering, ableit with slightly more grungier tones ;) This is one beefy card!

The heart is polystyrene, which I cut in half, wrapped in mesh material and painted.

^ Some details. I cut a hole to form a recess and filled with a couple of Prima mechanicals, prettied up with some sequins.

The large flower has a Junkyard findings stud and an old cog which was painted with mica powder as it's centre.

And that's me done for today. See you later!

The Loudest Mind...

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a layout I created for Prima's February edition of the Build A Page sketch challenge.

The page turned out more sprawling than I'd first planned but I'm still relatively content with the finished article...

Gesso textured by running a comb through it then coloured with inks and mica powders.

Notice the silver birch tree bark, which I found hanging loose. Of course I had to have it - this stuff is beyond awesome! There is a lightbulb theme going on here, some Ingvild Bolme Junkyard findings and mini bulbs which are cut from a 12x12 sheet (Prima Craftsman I believe).

I added in yet more texture via mulberry tissue paper, which I've glued in place, painted and added some stamping details.

Pieces of an old camera film negative double up as a border and tiny die cut tag!

See you later!
